چکیده
We prove that oriented and standard shadowing properties are equivalent for topological flows on closed surfaces with the nonwandering sets consisting of a finite number critical elements (i.e., singularities or orbits). Moreover, we each isolated singularity flow surface property is either asymptotically stable, backward admits neighborhood which splits into two four hyperbolic sectors.

Vortices on closed surfaces
Key words: point vortices, Riemann surfaces, Green functions. We consider N point vortices s j of strengths κ j moving on a closed (compact, boundaryless, orientable) surface S with riemannian metric g. As far as we know, only the sphere or surfaces of revolution, the latter qualitatively, have been treated in the available literature. The aim of this note is to present an intrinsic geometric f...
متن کاملClosed geodesics on incomplete surfaces
We consider the problem of finding embedded closed geodesics on the two-sphere with an incomplete metric defined outside a point. Various techniques including curve shortening methods are used.
متن کاملOn Sampling Closed Planar Curves and Surfaces
In this paper we consider a problem of sampling a continuous planar curve. We show that in order to sample a curve, one needs to impose a priori assumptions about the type of parameterization (coordinate system), which would provide a functional form for otherwise just a set of points on the plane. The emphasis in this paper is on curves representable in polar coordinates, but the sampling tech...
متن کاملEfficient Self-Shadowing Using Image-Based Lighting on Glossy Surfaces
In this paper we present a novel natural illumination approach for real-time rasterization-based rendering with environment map-based high dynamic range lighting. Our approach allows to use all kinds of glossiness values for surfaces, ranging continuously from completely diffuse up to mirror-like glossiness. This is achieved by combining cosine-based diffuse, glossy and mirror reflection models...
متن کاملA Geometrical Constraint on Shadowing in Rough Surfaces
By considering a one-dimensional cross-section through the rough surface, we derive a purely geometrical constraint on the statistical distribution of shadowed facet slopes that should be satissed by any model of surface emissivity that includes the eeect of self-shadowing. Our purpose is not to develop a single shadowing model, but to provide a condition that any valid shadowing model should s...
